The receptionist provided some adaptors to the swiss electric power. You have welcome water at the room, free o charge. Easy reachable by the tram, just 10min to the city center.
The internet at 6th floor is not working well, so I needed to go to the reception hall to have access. I expected to have free public transport in Basel (as usual if you have your accomodation in the hotels located in Basel), however Hotel Alfa is located exactly at the end of Basel, beginning of Biersfelden. Therefore, I needed to buy 2 x 6 tram/bus tickets, with a total cost of 2 x 18.40 CHF, to reach the city center.

The room was small and lacked basic amenities, like AC, which totally ruined my sleep. The pillows smelled like a damp towel, just unacceptable. I thought I woudl get some special treatment but I guess not, just a room like everyone else. Absoluteley disappointing, almost gave a good review but just couldn't.

The location of the hotel is excellent. There is a free parking lot. The tram stop is right in front of the door. There were also free day tickets for public transport for the whole stay. The breakfast was very good, the staff very friendly and helpful.
The room, especially the bathroom was very small, rather unsuitable for a longer stay. But the size was sufficient for a short trip. The lighting was annoying. In the room itself there was no ceiling lamp and no lamp at the desk. There were only two lamps on the bed, of which the lamp on one side of the bed was defective. The defect was brought up by us at the reception, but there was no repair. The bed was quite comfortable from the mattress, but it was not possible to turn over without violent squeaking or creaking noises.

That they have free parking is interesting. In addition, they offer you an unlimited transport ticket so that you can use it for all the services while you are staying at the hotel. Although it may seem that it is far from the centre, this is not the case, since by tram it only takes 10 minutes, and even more, the stop is right in front of it.
The hotel is a bit old, you can tell, and maybe you could give a twist to the theme of decoration and details. They let us go up to the room without it being ready yet, the lady who was fixing it was surprised. We had to wait in the reception. The room was not uncomfortable, the beds were not bad, but they left us a fan as an air conditioner and there were some insects on the walls... The breakfast was very short and of poor quality. The view from the room, as expected, was of a backyard.

The location was a bit distant, but it offered easy
Access to public transport with a tram stop right outside. The room was tidy and the bed was comfortable. It was a pleasant surprise to receive free public transport tickets upon check-in, made exploring the area easy. I would definitely recommend this hotel for its friendly staff and convenience, though the signage outside could be improved for easier identification.

The room was larger than expected and had a really good range of to channels - in a selection of languages.

Extremely friendly and helpful staff. The tram station is only a few metres from the front door, which you can use free of charge as a hotel guest and thus reach the city centre after a few minutes. Breakfast (best coffee ever) and restaurant (4-course menu for CHF 22.50 - plus a one-off voucher for a 15% discount) are unbeatable for prices in Switzerland. An informal and unobtrusive atmosphere. Many hotel parking spaces and wifi free of charge - simply top!
Since I was there at the beginning of January and the windows are closed anyway due to the weather, I don't know what the street and the tram in front of the hotel sound like with the windows open. Of course, as a smoker, I don't like the fact that I have to go outside because the hotel has no balconies, but that's my problem and I can take it.

The free public transport tickets provided upon check-in were a great bonus that facilitated my visits to Basel. The tram stop conveniently located right outside the hotel made commuting easy.
Parking spots were limited.

The hotel was reasonably large, with very amiable and genuinely helpful stuff and PERFECT location next to the tram station. The room was a nice size and beautifully maintained with breakfast, everything was really good. We had a real good experience.

Well-placed with a tram stop right outside,. The room was tidy and the fresh air from outside was lovely with the window open.
No air conditioning,, causing discomfort on warm nights. Limited breakfast options left much to be desired.
